Position Summary
Lead, evaluate, design, and engineer projects and systems to specification on projects ranging from new design/build to rehabilitation of existing facilities and systems. Provide ongoing technical guidance and engineering issue resolution as needed.
Position Details- Performs more complex modeling, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection or other systems
- Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
- Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
- May be responsible for a single phase of a project
- Provides guidance to less experienced engineers
- Performs on-site field surveys to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
- Assists in writing technical narratives and responses to RFIs
- Responsible for Code compliance
- Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
- PE License preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Basic knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations.
- Ability to read construction documents.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
