We're partnering with a well-established Building Automation contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that's looking to add a Design Engineer to its growing team.
If you enjoy taking a project from concept to reality, creating detailed control drawings, and working alongside project managers, programmers, and field teams, this could be a great fit.
You'll be involved in a variety of commercial and mission-critical projects across Texas, including data centers, healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, commercial offices, and other complex environments where reliable building systems are essential.
This isn't a role where you'll be stuck updating redlines all day. You'll play a key part in the design process, helping shape how control systems are engineered and delivered across a range of high-profile projects.
What We'll Be Doing- Design Building Automation and HVAC control systems for commercial projects
- Create control schematics, network architecture drawings, and system layouts using Microsoft Visio
- Develop points lists, sequences of operation, panel drawings, and submittal packages
- Review project plans, specifications, and customer requirements
- Work closely with Project Managers, Programmers, and Installation Teams throughout project delivery
- Support equipment selection and engineering calculations when required
- Coordinate with consulting engineers, general contractors, and end users
- Produce as-built documentation and project closeout packages
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and best practices
- 3+ years of experience designing Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Energy Management Systems
- Strong Microsoft Visio experience for controls drawings and system documentation
- Understanding of HVAC equipment, control sequences, and BAS architectures
- Experience creating submittals, network diagrams, points schedules, and control drawings
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical plans
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with one or more of the following:
- Tridium Niagara
- Distech Controls
- Delta Controls
- Johnson Controls Metasys
- Siemens Desigo
- Schneider Electric Eco Struxure
Additional experience supporting data centers, healthcare, higher education, or other large commercial projects would be highly valued.
