Summary
* This role will be reporting to our Fort Worth, TX facility Celestica is hiring a Quality, Reliability and Microelectronics Lab Manager / Failure Analysis Engineer with experience in creative problem solving and failure analysis of materials involved in the manufacturing of electronic components and assemblies. The goal of this role is to continuously improve the quality and reliability of electronic devices through laboratory testing and microelectronics assembly.

The role is responsible for leading a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians as well as designing, developing, deploying, executing and optimizing test plans to assess product and component quality and reliability. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager / Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and timely failure analysis, constructional analysis, and technical services to both internal and external customers.

As part of this role, you’ll utilize advanced failure analysis analytical tools and techniques to investigate and resolve quality issues related to soldering, printed circuit board assemblies, integrated circuits and microelectronic components.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Manager of both the quality and reliability test lab staff as well as the microelectronics assembly technology team which focuses on high accuracy die attach and wire bonding.
• Program Manage the financial aspects of internal and external lab projects
• Interfacing with other Celestica departments on Lab priorities, escalations, etc.
• Prioritizing and delegating internal and external Lab projects
• Approving Lab reports, quotes, expenses, and capital equipment purchases
• Lead marketing initiatives to increase lab services revenue and win new customers
• Execution and project / customer ownership of failure analysis and qualification quotes, test plans, analysis and reporting
• Design, develop, and implement new lab test processes to support the understanding of the quality of customer products
• Solve technical product, process, component, and related quality problems that affect the efficient operation and/or manufacture of electronic products.
• Provide feedback to product designers, manufacturing and quality engineers and component suppliers on suitability of designs and processes for manufacturability
• Develop novel test methods to investigate electronic product quality and reliability issues
• Perform root cause failure analysis and provide corrective actions to prevent future product failures and improve reliability
• Prepare reports identifying samples, explaining testing methods, documenting findings, and outlining conclusions of analyses.
• Design and execute experimental procedures, including qualitative and quantitative testing of complex samples.
• Develop, validate and troubleshoot analytical test methods
• Lead/Support cross-functional teams in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for electronic product and component failures, employing debugging process, utilizing analytical tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis) to identify true root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
