Role: Substation Physical Project Designer
Responsibilities: Prepare and review detailed substation drawings including general arrangements, electrical plans, elevations, bill of materials, grounding, conduit, and control building plans. Conduct technical reviews of vendor deliverables, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and guide team members in design tools and standards. Lead field walkdowns, coordinate with clients and contractors, and oversee design quality and progress. Develop cost-effective solutions and ensure integration across disciplines.
Manage workload within budget and schedule, delegate tasks, and evaluate team performance.
Qualifications & Skills: Associates Degree or equivalent, 15+ years of substation design experience, proficient in AutoCAD or Micro Station, strong visualization skills, and knowledge of design standards. Familiarity with Bentley Substation, Inventor SDS, Blue Beam, and point cloud data is a plus. Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Key Duties: Oversee design deliverables, provide technical guidance, ensure adherence to standards, and support team development. Demonstrate leadership in project execution and quality assurance.
