Duties
The incumbent serves as the district senior staff technical specialist.
Serves as a subject matter expert in fire prevention and life safety, providing authoritative guidance on applicable codes, UFC criteria, Army and DoD requirements, and accepted fire protection engineering practice.
Incumbent is responsible for the technical design, review, and evaluation of fire protection and life safety plans for military, civil work, and other district construction projects.
Exercises technical responsibility for accuracy, adequacy, code compliance, and coordination of fire protection and life safety design requirements within the project, including review of in-house and A-E design and resolution of technical issues.
Provides expert advice, consultation, and technical determinations on complex or unusual fire protection and life safety matters.
Incumbent completes project planning, design, construction, and operation, and coordinates with other engineering disciplines, project delivery team, installation personnel, and external stakeholders as requested.
