Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer III to lead complex aircraft seating projects in our Engineering & Design department. You will drive the full product development lifecycle-from concept and 3D design through testing, certification, and production-ensuring innovative, lightweight, and certifiable seating solutions. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, manufacturability, and sustainability while mentoring junior engineers and supporting RECARO's culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex aircraft seating design and development projects from concept through certification and production release.
- Create and review 3
- D models, drawings, and specifications to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Engineering & Design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
- Drive weight reduction, cost optimization, and sustainability in product designs.
- Support testing, validation, and certification activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Ensure project milestones, budgets, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Required Skills
- CATIA or similar 3
- D CADFinite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
- Aerospace/aviation design standards
- FAA/EASA certification requirements
- Mechanical design and GD&TMaterials engineering (metals/composites)
- Project engineering and scheduling
- DFMEA/Design for manufacturability
- Testing and validation planning
