Job Description *
* Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
** Airworthiness Engineer Staff - F‑35 Airworthiness (AW) Team*
* You will serve as a key Airworthiness Engineer within the F‑35 Airworthiness Team, responsible for ensuring the safety, certification, and ongoing compliance of the F‑35 program. In this role, you'll help shape the engineering rigor that enables our fighter platforms to meet demanding military aviation airworthiness standards.
** What You Will Be Doing*
* As an Airworthiness Engineer Staff, you will help define and uphold the technical foundation that supports certification, engineering discipline, and flight safety across multiple platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, interpreting, and maintaining airworthiness engineering requirements that establish the certification basis for the F‑35 and other fighter platforms
- Ensuring continuous compliance with DoD, Service, and applicable FAA airworthiness policies and regulations, and updating internal processes as standards evolve
- Evaluating design, development, test, and qualification artifacts to verify conformity with airworthiness criteria, identifying gaps, and driving corrective actions
- Supporting airworthiness certification activities for the F‑35 development, production, sustainment, and retrofit
- Managing airworthiness artifacts and data throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and accessibility to support engineering and certification needs
- Collaborating with engineering, safety, test, and program leadership to ensure airworthiness considerations are integrated early and consistently across the program

** Basic Qualifications*
* - Bachelors in Engineering (i.e. Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial)
- Experience in aerospace airworthiness, certification, or related regulatory fields
- Proven experience leading a team of technical professionals
** Desired Skills*
* - Demonstrated success managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects in a government‑contract environment
- Direct experience with advanced fighter aircraft airworthiness programs
- Familiarity with Program Office (PO processes and government certification requirements)
- Advanced degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and business‑acumen skills; ability to interpret technical data and translate it into actionable plans
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities; adept at fostering collaboration across functional areas
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize competing demands, and deliver superior results under tight deadlines
** Pay Information*
* Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
