This position is for a Level 5 Systems Engineer. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)/Obsolescence Management Specialist to support lifecycle sustainment activities for complex products and systems within the F-35 Reprogramming Labs (RL). This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating material and component obsolescence risks to ensure continuity of sustainment, and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, program management, and suppliers to develop effective obsolescence mitigation strategies while minimizing cost, schedule, and performance impacts. The ideal candidate will support proactive sustainment planning through developing 10-Year roadmaps, obsolescence forecasting, alternate sourcing, and redesign recommendations. The role includes participating in design reviews and provide lifecycle management recommendations for new and existing products.

The candidate will also support proposal development and Basis of Estimate (BOE) activities related to sustainment and obsolescence management efforts.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

• Bachelor or above Degree in a Technical Discipline, or related technical experience
• Experience and knowledge in Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMSMS) or Obsolescence Management

• Knowledge of product lifecycle management and supply chain continuity principles
• Experience analyzing supplier and component obsolescence data
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Risk Management

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00
