Transportation Engineer I: (A16) $40,918 - $61,130
Transportation Engineer II: (A18) $45,521 - $71,055
This position is for 2 (two) Transportation Engineer I or II. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Performs basic design work and calculations. Performs field work; uses automated systems. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Transport Engineer Tech I Essential Duties- Prepares field notes.
- Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps.
- Prepares roadway design. traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans
- Performs other Job responsibilities as assigned.
- Performs advanced drafting and calculations in support of design activities, develops graphic presentations that include distinctive design features.
- Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications.
