Job Description

Job Summary

The Event Operations Staff provide support on an as‑needed basis for event set up and preparations. The role requires flexibility, the ability to team‑lift and move tables and chairs for large scale events, and assists with various aspects of event setup, execution, and teardown. Responsibilities include arranging equipment, managing event logistics, and ensuring events run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and dismantle event tables, chairs, and other items according to the event work orders.
  • Transport, install and maintain event equipment, ensure all tools and materials are properly handled.
  • Assist in the coordination of deliveries, placements, and movement of event-related equipment.
  • Help manage attendee flow, providing guidance and assistance to ensure a smooth and safe event experience.
  • Operate and troubleshoot audio‑visual and other technical equipment as needed during the event.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Ensure all safety regulations and protocols are followed, including proper handling of heavy items and emergency procedures.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.
Specific

Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience with events and setting up and tearing down event equipment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and initiative; ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Exemplary social skills with an ability to be a part of and contribute to a collaborative team, manage conflicts, and demonstrate love and appreciation for cross‑cultural interaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read floor plans and diagrams.
  • Evening and weekend work is required during large‑scale events and peak Admission seasons.
  • Ability to provide proof of Work Authorization in the U.S. and proof of identity.
  • Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

Physical Requirements
  • Office Environment
    - May be required to reach above shoulder level for organizational tasks (e.g., retrieving files from upper shelves), bend, stoop, or reach to access lower or upper shelves.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and move about to the office to interact with other staff members.
  • Ability to use a computer and near‑visual acuity in reading written documents and statistical data.
  • Exchanges information by telephone, computer, in writing and in person.
  • Ability to traverse campus for meetings and talk to groups while doing so.
  • Heavy Lifting
    - Occasionally transports 40-50lbs of parts and equipment across short distances by various means (e.g., carrying, cart, golf cart) to accomplish tasks.
