Food Service Representative

A Food Service Representative is responsible for providing superior customer service and for preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh product on a daily basis while maintaining all department and food safety / sanitation standards. Key responsibilities include providing superior customer service, preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh product, taking orders from customers by telephone or in person, answering customer questions regarding products and assisting them with selections, slicing, packaging, labeling, and rotating products, using suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales, scanning in items on telxon for production, assisting in technical areas as needed, merchandising product effectively, cleaning and sanitizing display cases, properly handling and maintaining the operation of all equipment, making regular announcements to inform customers of products, complying with Company Food Safety and Sanitation standards, and using the effectively track production and shrink through department processes.

Qualifications and key requirements include work experience, knowledge/skills/abilities, good customer service skills, reading and writing skills, planning and organizing skills, communication/interpersonal skills, computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, Label Machine), HS diploma or GED or equivalent, company orientation, safety training, and physical demands and working conditions such as lifting and carrying moderately heavy loads up to 50lbs, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting, and being regularly exposed to extreme temperatures and wet and/or humid conditions.
