Senior Accountant (Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000)
Sage Search Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing financial services company in Fort Worth, TX (hybrid 3/2). In this hands‑on role, you’ll own core GAAP and statutory close activities, financial reporting, and audit support while partnering closely with a small, high‑caliber team and senior leadership.
In addition to being CPA or CPA‑track with at least three years of accounting experience, the ideal candidate brings advanced Excel skills (e.g., SUMIFS, INDEX, XLOOKUP) and a data‑driven mindset, ideally with insurance or other regulated financial statements experience and exposure to statutory accounting. Prior public accounting experience is strongly preferred, and familiarity with investment accounting and tools like Clearwater is a plus.
If you’d like to join a dynamic company with significant runway, real ownership, and excellent work/life balance, apply today.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and statutory financial close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, and flux analyses.
- Prepare, analyze, and file financial statements and required disclosures; ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger activity.
- Drive process improvements across reporting, data flows, and controls; propose and present enhancements to senior leadership as the business scales.
- Coordinate external audits and examinations (PBC requests, tie‑outs) and support adherence to evolving internal control policies.
- Maintain the close calendar and deliverables; collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, tax, investments, administrators, and auditors.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow support; provide analysis on valuations, trends, and performance drivers.
- Stay current on GAAP and SSAP updates and translate changes into practical reporting and control implications.
- Work with large data sets to reconcile sources and convert to GAAP/stat‑compliant results; leverage advanced Excel and learn new systems quickly (e.g., Clearwater).
- Gain exposure to investment schedules and related reporting with potential to expand into controls leadership and team mentorship.
- CPA (or active CPA progress) with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting background strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort manipulating large data sets to produce accurate, reconcilable outputs.
- Experience with GAAP financial reporting; prior exposure to statutory accounting and/or insurance or other regulated financial statements is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with investment accounting and relevant platforms (e.g., Clearwater or similar) and the ability to adopt new tools quickly.
- Sharp analytical skills, clear communication, strong initiative, and the confidence to operate in a lean, high‑ownership environment.
- Hybrid on‑site presence in Fort Worth, TX (3/2); candidates should expect a fast‑paced, builder mindset culture.
