The Senior Financial Analyst will be pivotal in developing and enhancing financial reporting processes and materials for Magnetics internal and external stakeholders, partnering with operations, business owners, and functional leaders. Additionally, this role will support financial close activities, annual planning, quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic projects. This position will offer a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing and dynamic environment and would be a key member of MP Materials’ Magnetics FP&A team.
Position Responsibilities:- Support all aspects of financial analysis – management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial close activities, and strategic projects.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data, reports, and research findings.
- Collaborate with FP&A team and other groups to establish and continually improve processes.
- Present conclusions and recommendations with clear distinction between fact and opinion.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, weekly manager reports, and recurring analysis.
- Partner with operations, business owners, and functional leaders on cost center management, headcount planning, and business initiative support.
- Ensure compliance with financial guidelines and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in finance, accounting, engineering, or mathematics.
- 3+ years of work experience in manufacturing or public company experience is desired.
- Strong understanding of financial statements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with manufacturing accounting systems, SAP is a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence software such as Power BI or Microsoft SQL is a plus.
- Must be highly analytical, intellectually curious, and a fast learner.
- Ability to identify objectives, collect and process data, analyze and interpret results, and present conclusions and recommendations.
- Must be self-directed, highly collaborative, and able to handle a variety of responsibilities.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including senior management.
- Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies for compliance and controls.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
- Familiarity with or keen interest in learning about industrial processes.
