Department Summary

The Research Financial Services office is dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service through compliance, transparency, and accountability in managing the University’s research funds. We uphold the highest standards of integrity while providing clear guidance and efficient financial management. Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key role within an organization, responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis to support and influence key business decisions. This role involves developing sophisticated financial models, preparing forecasts, managing and analyzing complex grant portfolio's receivables and revenue monthly. Providing in-depth information to senior management is crucial for realistic planning in a tumultuous research environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of financial and budget forecasting.
  • Proficient in a number of computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a variety of other software applications.
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization to draw relevant conclusions.
  • Experience compiling statistical data and preparing a report.
  • Experience in recommending actions through analysis and studying proposed changes in processes.
  • Experience in budgeting, including research clinical trials budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and resource allocation processes.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships through solid communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems; internet and computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guideance.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences.
