Job Summary:
This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The role includes the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families, including education, counseling, and referrals as necessary.
- Provide one‑on‑one counseling, consultation with a commander or other staff, briefings, presentations, and referral resources to participants.
- Work closely with installation and branch points of contact (POC) to ensure the program is within scope and meets installation needs.
- Directly counsel and manage financial services for service members and families.
- Assist service members in developing spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival at duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and other career events).
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication methods, such as web‑based chat or video, as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
- Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision, and share trends and issues within assigned installations.
- Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required. Associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience, may be considered.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship, fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Possession of one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500. Compensation may vary by location and is based on experience, education, and other factors. Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, and voluntary benefits designed to support physical, mental, and financial well‑being.
