Position: Teller II (Part Time) - FT. Worth University, Texas

Summary

As a Teller II at South State Bank, you will own all tasks and challenges in the operation of your assigned position, delivering quick, accurate, and confidential service in accordance with South State Bank Service Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially.
  • Know and understand the bank’s products and services.
  • Identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues.
  • Seek opportunities to expand customer relationships by making referrals as outlined in position goals.
  • Present a neat and professional personal appearance in accordance with bank policy.
  • Assess and effectively manage all risks associated with job function.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, including Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer‑facing technology and enroll customers in self‑service options.
  • Process transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Assist in guiding and training new tellers when required.
  • Provide customer access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Cash checks and process savings withdrawals within assigned limits.
  • Sell certified checks within assigned limits.
  • Balance transactions daily.
  • Service/balance ATMs (as needed).
  • Use the branch capture system.
  • Follow policies and procedures to minimize operational errors and maintain proper workflow.
  • Follow branch security and audit procedures and understand the function and operation of security devices.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • More than 18 months of experience and demonstrated expertise in the Teller I job function, with willingness and ability to perform Teller II duties.
  • Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience; previous banking experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal, computer, and English language skills.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Vault responsibilities or backup vault responsibilities as required.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods.
  • Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers.
Work Environment

This position is primarily in an open lobby area with an individual workstation inside a cooled and heated facility. The facilities include a break room or restroom during breaks.

Travel

Travel may be required to attend meetings or training as needed.
