Job Description & How to Apply Below

Senior Associate (Deal Intelligence & Research Team)

This role is primarily focused on analyzing qualitative factors and does not involve financial modeling or valuation. Intelligence projects are completed using a combination of internet research, AI prompts, and private databases (such as Capital IQ and Grata). While it has the potential to be client‑facing, it is mainly an internal role.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding a client’s acquisition strategy and then identifying suitable prospects that fit within that strategy.
  • Qualifying prospects based on size, service lines, potential legal issues, ownership structure, and other pertinent information necessary to paint a larger picture of how that company would fit within the client’s company.
  • Investigating “rabbit holes” that might give specific details about a particular prospect.
  • Creating detailed and easily readable research packets to disseminate to senior members of the team or executives at one of our client companies.
  • Performing industry-wide or macro‑economic analysis to identify tangential opportunities that our clients may not be considering.
  • Finding and qualifying potential buyers for sell‑side clients, including strategic, financial, and family‑office buyers.
  • Reporting to and collaborating with members of other teams within the firm including senior leadership, business development, deal analysis and execution, and other members of the intelligence team.
Qualifications
  • 2‑4 years of experience in an analytical‑type role that involves pulling together information and then using that information to make a strategic decision to do something or not to do something. While not necessarily required, having this work focused on finance is a significant plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience using AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity to identify information, stress‑test that information, and then arrange that information into an acceptable format.
  • While not required, exposure to construction, power generation, engineering, or data centers is a significant plus.
  • Be able to think strategically to actively assess how well a prospect, idea, or tactic fits in with the bigger picture, which may change quickly.
  • Strong ability to retain and recall information and synthesize new data with old to drive decision-making.
  • Candidate should be able to clearly and coherently articulate ideas, information, and suggestions to coworkers and clients.
  • The individual should be a detail‑oriented worker who can work autonomously to manage their workload and meet deadlines.
