The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s revenue reporting. This role leads revenue accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX while delivering timely, data-driven insights to support business decisions. The position plays a key role in driving process improvements and enhancing the scalability of revenue-related workflows.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all revenue accounting activities, including preparation and review of recurring revenue entries and related journal entries.
- Own, maintain, and enhance complex revenue models and data workflows, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Leverage large, complex datasets to perform in-depth analysis, validation, and reconciliation of revenue results.
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly revenue reconciliations and analyses.
- Oversee the calculation and processing of commission payouts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Sales to ensure proper revenue recognition and reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly SEC filings, including revenue-related schedules, supporting documentation, and audit requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
Master’s degree a plus. - CPA preferred.
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate revenue accounting;
Big 4 experience a plus. - Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).
- Experience querying and analyzing data from centralized data sources (e.g., data warehouses) using SQL or similar tools.
- Ability to understand, maintain, and enhance complex data models or workflows supporting financial reporting and analysis (e.g., Alteryx)
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience working with large datasets and modern data environments preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau) preferred.
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
