One of Vaco’s private equity backed logistics clients is looking to add a Controller to the team. The company is growing via acquisition and offers lots of opportunity for promotion. The controller will lead the charge on month end and be the first line of defense on variance analysis, troubleshooting and process improvement.

Compensation
: $160-170K + Bonus

• Lead and oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Lead the charge on getting processes in place - newly acquired so will need SOP process creation
• Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with operations and FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis at the location and consolidated level
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties
• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and close optimization
• Support ERP implementations, integrations, and system upgrades across locations
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance reviews and workload planning
• Support special projects such as M&A integrations, new location openings, and restructuring initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting
• Prior experience managing or reviewing the work of accounting staff
• Strong experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
