The VP, Director of Treasury is responsible for leading the Bank’s Treasury function, including balance sheet strategy, liquidity and funding management, interest rate risk (ALM), investment portfolio strategy, and Treasury governance.
How will this role impact First Command?The VP, Director of Treasury is responsible for leading the Bank’s Treasury function, including balance sheet strategy, liquidity and funding management, interest rate risk (ALM), investment portfolio strategy, and Treasury governance. This role serves as a key strategic partner to executive management, ensuring that the Bank’s balance sheet is optimally positioned to support growth, profitability, and risk management objectives. The VP, Director of Treasury will lead the ALCO process, oversee the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework, and ensure strong coordination with Accounting, Finance, Risk, and external advisors.
Whatwill the employee do in this role? Balance Sheet Strategy & ALM
- Lead the Bank’s interest rate risk management framework (NII, EVE)
- Develop and maintain Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) methodology
- Provide strategic input into loan pricing decisions and deposit pricing strategy
- Perform scenario analysis and stress testing
- Recommend balance sheet positioning strategies
- Oversee ALM model governance and assumptions
- Develop and execute liquidity strategy
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity monitoring
- Manage funding sources, including deposits and wholesale funding
- Maintain and update the Contingency Funding Plan (CFP)
- Monitor deposit concentration and stability risks
- Ensure adequate liquidity under stress scenarios
- Define and execute investment portfolio strategy
- Manage duration, yield, and liquidity trade-offs
- Oversee portfolio performance and positioning
- Ensure alignment with liquidity and interest rate outlook
- Coordinate with Accounting for trade execution and reporting
- Lead and manage ALCO governance process
- Develop and present to ALCO, Executive Management and Board of Directors, as needed
- Establish and monitor risk limits (liquidity and IRR)
- Maintain treasury-related policies
- Ensure coordination with accounting for data integration and control
- Support regulatory and audit engagements.
- Oversee Treasury Senior Analyst activities
- Leverage external advisory for ALM modeling enhancements, FTP design and stress testing
- Ensure knowledge transfer and internal capability development
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance of accounting
- 8 - 12+ years of Treasury/ALM experience in the banking industry
- CFA preferred
Skills And Abilities
- Strong experience in interest rate risk, liquidity management and balance sheet strategy
- Strong experience with ALCO and FTP framework
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Experience in a digital or growth-oriented bank, preferred
- Strong in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
