SUMMARY

The Fraud & Card Services Specialist supports the Bank's fraud prevention and debit card operations by monitoring suspicious activity, resolving fraud and card-related issues, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and Texas Bank policies. This position collaborates with internal teams, customers, and vendors to protect customer accounts while delivering efficient and professional service.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Monitor and investigate suspicious account and transaction activity to identify potential fraud and mitigate risk.
  • Process fraud claims, debit card disputes, and card service requests in accordance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist customers with fraud prevention, account protection, debit card services, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendor partners to resolve operational and fraud-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, case documentation, and reporting related to fraud and card services activities.
  • Investigate fraud-related events including check fraud, ACH fraud, debit card fraud, forged items, account takeover attempts, and other suspicious activity.
  • Utilize fraud monitoring systems and available reporting tools to identify emerging fraud patterns and support timely risk mitigation efforts.
  • Promote fraud awareness and customer education initiatives designed to reduce losses and protect the Bank and its customers.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in banking, fraud operations, card services, dispute processing, financial operations, or a related financial services role.
  • Working knowledge of debit card operations, fraud prevention practices, customer service, and banking operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to process transactions, disputes, claims, and case documentation accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers, employees, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Ability to research issues, analyze information, resolve routine matters, and escalat[e] complex or high-risk situations appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and handle sensitive customer and account information securely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience with fraud monitoring platforms such as Verafin, Yellow Hammer, or similar fraud detection systems.
  • Experience with JH FINBOA, Jack Henry, EPS, EFTSource, or related debit card processing and dispute management systems.
  • Knowledge of Regulation E, ACH processes, debit card operations, check fraud, account fraud, and fraud investigation procedures.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources and assist with operational reporting.
