Job Summary

Serves as a financial partner to the organization by building and maintaining cash flow models, leading the annual budget and recurring forecast cycles, and producing the reporting packages used at the department, branch, and consolidated levels. Develops and standardizes key performance indicators and partners with business unit leaders to drive buy-in and accountability. Performs variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifies the operational root cause, and recommends corrective action.

Builds ROI analysis for capital requests and tracks realized returns, and supports forecasting and valuation analysis for M&A and expansion opportunities.

Essential Functions
  • Build and maintain the company’s cash flow models, including short-term liquidity and longer-range projections.
  • Lead the annual operating budget and recurring reforecasts, including template design, data collection, consolidation, and review with department and branch leadership.
  • Prepare recurring monthly and quarterly reporting packages at the department, branch, and consolidated levels.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, and document the operational drivers behind material variances.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators, including definitions, source data, and calculation methodology.
  • Partner with department and branch leadership to review results, validate assumptions, and follow up on committed actions.
  • Build ROI analysis for capital spending requests and track realized ROI against approved projects after implementation.
  • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of budget, forecast, and cash flow model outputs.
  • Ensure consistency and usability of reporting packages delivered to department, branch, and executive audiences.
  • Identify root causes for financial variances and coordinate cross-functional solutions.
  • Maintain the integrity of KPI definitions and calculations, including alignment with the metrics business units manage to.
  • Maintain the accuracy of capital ROI analysis and post-approval tracking of realized returns against the business case.
  • Lead and/or participate in monthly financial reviews with department and branch leadership.
  • Maintain the close-to-report calendar and deliver reporting packages on a fixed schedule.
  • Refresh cash flow, budget, and forecast models on a defined cadence as actuals are posted.
  • Maintain standard work for recurring reporting, model updates, and data validation.
  • Identify recurring drivers of budget variance, margin erosion, and cost overruns.
  • Recommend improvements that shorten cycle time and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support long-range planning and scenario modeling, including valuation analysis for M&A and expansion opportunities.
  • Support reporting automation and business intelligence improvements.
  • Present financial results and KPI performance to business unit leaders clearly and promptly.
  • Build buy-in and accountability by tying metrics to the levers each leader controls.
  • Coordinate with accounting, operations, and sales to resolve data or timing issues.
  • Support improvement in budget and forecast accuracy, visibility into department and branch profitability, and working capital and cash flow performance.
  • Reduce reporting cycle time and manual rework.
  • Provide input and expertise regarding headcount and compensation planning, pricing and margin analysis, growth and cost initiatives, M&A and expansion analysis, capital planning, cross-functional escalation, and business case review.
