Client Manager – Energy

• Underwrite and manage a commercial banking portfolio focused on the upstream/midstream oil and gas sector
• Support a mid-to-large-size portfolio, including complicated or complex Reserve Based Loans
• Conduct client-facing interactions and manage approval processes and legal documentation
• Partner with other officers to administer assigned commercial banking relationships
• Underwrite Oil & Gas Reserve Based Loans using engineering data input, financial data input, historical financial analysis, and analysis of upstream/midstream oil and gas operations
• Maintain the portfolio by calling on existing customers, expanding business, ensuring client relations and account servicing, and maintaining credit quality
• Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients through joint sales calls and direct correspondence
• Serve as a conduit for bank product lines and match client needs with appropriate products
• Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities
• Navigate internal systems and databases to input, obtain, and track portfolio information
• Grow fee/revenue, retain and grow the portfolio, manage and track the portfolio, and make referrals to other bank verticals/segments
• Prospect new opportunities with existing clients and make appropriate referrals
• Perform various projects and tasks as assigned, with emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE for the Sr. Client Manager role

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting / Finance / Economics / Mathematics or equivalent experience in a related field
• 5+ years of commercial banking or lending experience including credit underwriting for Client Manager role
• 8+ years of commercial banking or lending experience including credit underwriting for Sr. Client Manager role
• Advanced knowledge of credit and underwriting
• Solid or strong financial acumen
• Advanced knowledge of maturing loans, line renewals, term loan extensions, loan restructuring, approval processes, and changing loan terms
• Ability to interpret policies/procedures, loan contracts, credit reports, financial statements, and loan documents
• Self-starter with initiative
• Professional or strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company
• Analytical skills
• Strategic sales meeting skills for Sr. Client Manager role
• 3+ years of oil and gas underwriting/analysis for bonus consideration
• Exposure to the oil and gas industry/underwriting
• Knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations
• 5+ years of managing oil and gas relationships for bonus consideration
• Product training for bonus consideration

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of credit underwriting and financial analysis within the oil and gas sector, with a strong ability to manage commercial banking relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities. Proficient in navigating internal systems and maintaining credit quality while providing exceptional client service.
