The Oil & Gas Revenue Accounting Specialist II is primarily responsible for the research, correction, and creation of database information on the Oil & Gas Accounting System. This includes the creation and modification of division orders, check formats, and purchaser screens. Works with staff, business partners, and purchasers to research and resolve payments that will not post. Assists with daily process of revenue as needed in order to train new staff, ensure deadlines and service level agreements are met, and assist other processors with implementation of best practices and procedures.

• You will investigate and resolve complex payment discrepancies, unprocessed payments, and division order issues using specialized accounting systems.
• You will use Oil & Gas Accounting, remittance, and archive systems to research and correct payment errors, and train staff on resolving complex issues.
• You will analyze payments to accurately map them to the correct owner, asset, and interest, and update Division Orders as needed.
• You will submit and track asset and payment clarification requests through Remediation Systems, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
• You will enter and interpret detailed payment data into the accounting system, correcting errors such as misapplied funds or incorrect check amounts.
• You will reconcile daily deposits, maintain tracking logs, and perform administrative tasks like digital filing and document preparation for storage.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree and 1-2 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry or 3years equivalent work related experience in oil & gas or accounting industry. Experience with Oil & Gas Accounting System preferred.
