Position: EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR - Operations - Precinct 4
  • The Executive Administrator of Operations will serve as a vital link between the community and the Commissioner’s office.
  • This position will have several areas of responsibility and will need to be extremely skilled at managing several projects simultaneously.
  • This position will require detailed reporting and project management including budget tracking, progress reporting, and independent analysis.

  • Represents the Commissioner’s office to community organizations and other interested groups pertaining to relevant precinct programs.
  • Conducts investigative research on community-based organizations including funding sources, infrastructure and strategies.
  • Attends community-based meetings as needed.
  • Prepares reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings to written text.
  • Participates in conferences, training sessions and meetings relating to areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Directs grant activities and other extensive research projects.
  • With proper use of privileged, sensitive and confidential information, researches, develops, recommends and analyzes positions, proposals, policies, and programs for presentation or opposition by County Commissioner to Commissioners Court.
  • Negotiates, persuades, mediates, and assists local, state and federal governments and private entities regarding County-related issues.
  • Ensures implementation of Court directives following Commissioners Court meetings.
  • Develops and provides to the media general information and interpretation of County Commissioner’s positions and policies; requires knowledge and understanding of Texas Open Meetings/Open Records Act.
  • Monitors and analyzes media and public opinions. Develops and recommends responses, programs and positions.
  • Secures and provides critical information to County Commissioner during Commissioners Court proceedings.
  • Represents County Commissioner to various groups and forums.
  • Researches, addresses, and resolves various internal, external and inter-governmental inquiries, problems and complaints.
  • Researches and composes correspondence and presentations for self and County Commissioner; makes presentations as required.
  • Assists County Commissioner in drafting, proposing, and securing sponsors of legislation. Supports/opposes, analyzes, testifies for/against and tracks legislation.
  • Develops and administers interlocal contracts with other governmental entities; ensures compliance with policy and applicable law.
  • Researches legal issues.
  • Develops and distributes communications via a variety of social media.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

    must have a Bachelor's degree or higher + Five (5) full-time years of progressively responsible and related work experience

    must have an Associate’s degree + Seven (7) full-time years of progressively responsible and related work experience

    must have a High School diploma + Nine (9) full-time years of progressively responsible and related work experience.

    must possess a current and valid driver license.

    Note:

    A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.

    Master’s degree preferred.

    Preference will be given to candidates with a background in one or more of the following fields: government, public relations, management, budget development and administration, law, personnel, or road maintenance and construction.

    Proficiency in written and verbal communications skills.

    Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of social media.

    If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.

    Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

    While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull.
