Job Description
Job Summary: The Speech Pathologist PRN evaluates and executes Speech Therapy plan of care for patients to prevent illness or disability and restore function following an injury or illness.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve speech and language problems, diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders, and cognitive and psychosocial disorders.
- Evaluates and executes a Speech Therapy plan of care for patients.
- Documents patient care and charges.
- Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Speech-Language Pathology students.
- Participates in professional development and continuing education to insure compliance with licensure laws.
- Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned; job descriptions are not all-inclusive and may change with or without notice.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- SLP-CCC:
Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA OR must meet educational requirements and be in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification. - Current Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
