Job Description

Job Summary: The Speech Pathologist PRN evaluates and executes Speech Therapy plan of care for patients to prevent illness or disability and restore function following an injury or illness.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

  • Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve speech and language problems, diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders, and cognitive and psychosocial disorders.
  • Evaluates and executes a Speech Therapy plan of care for patients.
  • Documents patient care and charges.
  • Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Speech-Language Pathology students.
  • Participates in professional development and continuing education to insure compliance with licensure laws.
  • Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned; job descriptions are not all-inclusive and may change with or without notice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • SLP-CCC:
    Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA OR must meet educational requirements and be in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
  • Current Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
