Description: The Occupational Therapist evaluates and executes Occupational Therapy plan of care for patients in order to prevent illness and disability and restore function following an injury or illness.

• Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve physical health, prevocational skills, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Addresses associated sensorimotor, cognitive and psychosocial components.
• Designs and constructs splints and adaptive equipment and devices as necessary.
• Documents patient care and charges.
• Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Occupational Therapy students.
• Participates in professional development and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure laws.
• Performs related tasks as needed to ensure effective delivery of Occupational Therapy Services.
• Performs other related JOB duties as assigned.

Required

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor s Science degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• 1+ years  experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
