- Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
- Therapy Services
- Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM or 8:30AM-4:30PM;
Weekends:
Does cover for inpatient on call on weekend < 1 weekend day per quarter;
Holidays: 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4 th , Labor Day, New Years Day) and rotational basis of less than once every 10 years to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas day.
- Supporting the 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930
- Patients are seen 1-on-1 for 1-hour blocks. Largely neurological patients with stroke, brain tumor or traumatic brain injury. Poly trauma also seen.
- Bachelor’s Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
- No Experience required - new grads are welcome!
- Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.
- OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Problem‑solving ability;
Ability to teach others. - Time management skills;
Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.
- Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
- Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
- Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self‑management and assistive equipment.
- Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re‑certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
- Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
