Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical assessment and identify patient needs
  • Document, prepare, and complete patient Plan of Care. Track progress and revise as needed
  • Meet mandatory continuing education requirements
  • Assess and facilitate through direct therapeutic intervention the patient s ROM, strength, coordination, need for and use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to the patient s ADL performance need. Fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints
  • Communicate effectively with the family and team members to achieve desirable outcomes
  • Evaluate patient occupational performance in self-care, work, leisure, and rest. Assesses sensory-motor neuromuscular, psycho-social, and cognitive-perceptual components of occupational behavior. Assesses the patient s occupational environment s physical, social, and cultural components
  • Promote company mission and administrative policies to ensure the quality of care
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Texas State License as an Occupational Therapist
  • Current Texas Driver s License and reliable transportation
  • Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. Pediatric experience required
  • Effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally
  • Able to work in a patient s home in various conditions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proof of current CPR certification
  • Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing. Prolonged standing and walking are required
  • Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs
