This caregiving position involves supporting a young male member with autism and hearing impairment (completely deaf in the left ear and limited hearing in the right). The member is mobile and not bedbound but may require assistance with communication, daily routines, and maintaining a structured environment. Patience, consistency, and experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities are highly valued.
The member lives in a household with his mother, grandparents, and two sisters, so the caregiver should be comfortable working in a family environment. The member is a smoker, and there are no pets in the home.
- Meal preparation and assistance with feeding if needed
- Light housekeeping (sweeping, dishes, tidying up member’s area)
- Companionship and engagement in age-appropriate activities
- Support with communication and understanding due to hearing impairment
- Monitoring and ensuring safety in the home environment
