Patient Service Specialist - Medical Front Office

Position Overview

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation – Fort Worth (Lake Worth), TX.

Position:
Patient Service Specialist (PSS), Part Time.

Hours:

Monday–Thursday 3 p.m.–7 p.m.;
Friday 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Must be flexible with hours subject to change.

Compensation: $18–$25 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. Entry-level position.

• Greets patients, answers phones, and supports front office operations.
• Performs patient intake and data entry, including referral processing.
• Conducts insurance verification and pre‑authorization, reviews benefits with patients, and collects copays.
• Schedules patient appointments and coordinates with therapists and therapy assistants.
• Maintains daily cash balancing and records weekly banking deposits.
• Prepares billing reports and closing reports, plus other tasks as needed.
• Travels to other locations as needed.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and with a team.
• Preferred: customer service experience, knowledge of insurance verification, healthcare/medical/dental office administration experience.
