Occupational Therapist (OT) – Acute Care, Full-time

Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM;
Weekends: 1 weekend day per quarter;
Holidays: 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4 th, Labor Day, New Years Day) and rotational basis of less than once every 10 years to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas day.

Supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital - focus on inpatient; 815-bed Magnet-designated full-service hospital serving Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930
What You NeedBachelor s Degree – Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
Preferred experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.
OT – Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem-solving ability;
Ability to teach others.Time management skills;
Good interpersonal and customer service skills;
Basic leadership skills.
Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
