Responsibilities- Ensure total operation compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA‑approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
- Maintain high levels of customer service and positive donor experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality.
- Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
- Label each unit and sample accurately.
- Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with the highest quality and safety standards.
- Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, responding to alarms, incidents, and document exceptions.
- Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and product quality.
- Disconnect donors and properly dispose of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of plasmapheresis machines; remove or replace equipment when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including machine logs.
- Report any unsafe situations or conditions to management.
- Stock and replenish inventory on plasma carts.
- Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
- Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform routine quality checks.
- Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or GED required.
- State‑required certifications or licenses.
- Minimum 3 months of medical or healthcare experience (or equivalent education and experience).
- Completed documentation of training before independent duties.
- Strong customer‑service skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Accurate and complete documentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated consistency and reliability (attendance, punctuality, flexibility).
- Availability for daytime, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts.
- Proficiency in venipuncture.
- Effective communication skills.
- Sit or stand for extended periods.
- Tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, or kneel.
- Use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
- View video display terminal < 18" away from face for extended periods.
- Operate in an environment up to –40 °C per SOP.
- Perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small‑motor skills.
- Use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
