Job Summary
The Sports Nutrition Fellow will serve as the primary sports dietitian for 4-5 athletics teams. May be required to perform additional duties deemed necessary by the Director of Sports Nutrition. Candidates must be available to work 30 hours/week.
Duties & Essential Job Functions- Oversees nutrition-related responsibilities associated with the Performance Athletics Dining (PAD) student athlete dining facility.
- Provides nutritional counseling and educational services to student athletes.
- Develops effective sport-specific nutrition educational presentations and handout materials for student athletes.
- Oversees TCU Sports Nutrition social media accounts.
- Maintains ongoing communications with coaching staffs, strength & conditioning staff, athletic trainers, team physicians, mental health staff, and administration regarding nutritional issues affecting student athletes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) with active registration through the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
- Obtain certification/licensure as required by the state of Texas upon hire
- City of Fort Worth Food Handler’s Certification upon hire
- Valid driver’s license required

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of nutrient analysis programs.
- Skills in presentations and counseling.

- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to work non-traditional working hours: including breaks, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment.

Physical Requirements (With Or Without Accommodations)- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
- Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
- There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
