Scrub Tech Ortho at Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth I

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Certified Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures, demonstrating competence as a member of the surgical team. The candidate prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures, supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center, and participates in quality improvement activities.

• Experienced in supporting Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, and Urology specialties.

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification

• BLS required.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or at least two years of previous surgical technician experience.

Required Experience

• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
• Orthopedic experience required.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient conditions when needed.
• Excellent team player with strong communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians.
