Patient Care Tech Post Surgical Unit at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth

As the Patient Care Technician / Unit Secretary, the individual will interface with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on phone and in person for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center.

  • Performs clerical duties including distribution of messages.
  • Performs clinical duties, under the direction of an RN or LVN, including assisting patients to the restroom, removing iv catheters, etc.
  • Cleans rooms if needed.
  • Assists RN’s as instructed.
  • Any other duties as instructed by supervisor.
Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
Licensure/Certification
  • Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or equivalent
  • BLS Required
Required Experience
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Previous experience Electronic Healthcare Record helpful.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Excellent clinical skills appropriate for a medical assistant, nursing assistant or patient care tech
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.
