Occupational Therapist (PRN-Dallas)
Location:
Dallas – Hospital
Weekdays, 10‑hour shifts + quarterly weekend rotation.
Responsibilities- Perform examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome assessments in accordance with standards set by the profession’s national association, scope of practice and hospital policies.
- Provide age‑appropriate and family‑centered care according to evidence and practice standards, provider prescriptions, protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Complete documentation per departmental and hospital policy.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with providers, patients of all ages, families, hospital staff and other professionals.
- Supervise therapy aides, students and volunteers to maintain patient safety and regulatory standards.
- Participate in formal or informal education of new employees, students, volunteers and members of same and other disciplines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes through individual care coordination, education and research activities.
- Engage in professional development activities and express interest in research projects, performance‑improvement processes and outcome studies.
- Participate in community activities and programs that benefit patients, staff and the community.
- Current licensure to practice in the State of Texas.
- Successful completion of an accredited program in the applicable profession.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Recent graduate to 1 year of experience.
- Working Conditions: both indoor and outdoor; tasks may include sitting, standing and walking.
- Physical Demands: heavy; involves lifting or carrying weights of 35‑50 lbs and performing tasks such as pushing, pulling, crawling, repetitive movement, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing and balancing.
- Exposure: inside/outside environment, blood borne pathogens, loud noise, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards.
