DescriptionThe Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for planning and managing all internal department communications using a variety of platforms including emails, employee collateral, the intranet, digital slides, etc. Working with the Director of Communications, this individual will be responsible for ensuring that information created by the Communications department represents the standards, values, and mission of JPS Health Network and is appropriately tailored to our diverse audiences of patients, team members, and community members.
TypicalDuties
- Writes, edits, and creates internal communications for various platforms.
- Coordinates all internal communications projects and campaigns.
- Gathers information for publications, such as internal newsletters, emails, intranet content, announcements, and events.
- Collaborates with departmental communicators, employee engagement teams, and other operational teams to produce engaging and informative content for team members.
- Enhances the professionalism of internal communications.
- Identifies new, innovative ways of communicating with team members.
- Builds relationships with key stakeholders within the network.
- Collaborates with a team of graphic designers, web developers, and photographers to enhance internal communications pieces.
- Assists in maintaining the Communications Service Request system and intranet platform.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and JPS policies regarding patient privacy.
- Responds during on-call situations during emergency code activations, as needed.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, business, marketing, public relations, or related field of study.
- 2 plus years’ experience in communications-related field.
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare setting.
- Experience with CMS.
- Project management experience a plus.
