How

you’ll contribute

An Inpatient Therapist who excels in this role will:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
  • Display active involvement in the treatment planning process
  • Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
  • Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources
  • Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient’s treatment
  • Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members
  • Demonstrate active communication with team members
  • Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
  • Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills
  • Act as a member of the team during crisis situations, assisting others to ensure patient safety
  • Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
  • Assist care coordination department as requested
  • Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards
  • Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
  • Complete releases appropriately
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
  • Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after‑care planning treatment processes and other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or equivalent (required). Experience may be substituted for education.

Additional requirements include:

  • Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients preferred.
  • CPR Certification and De‑escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Clinical or Social Work license as required by state regulations.
