Senior Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 5:30PM CST, supervisor to determine schedule

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, guidance, support and direction for the front office and non-clinical staff
• Function as first contact for customer service issues
• May assist to coordinate work of other team members
• Resolve complex issues rarely deferring to supervisor/manager
• Serves as PSR mentor and trainer and provides expertise as SME to PSR staff
• Lead may need to be willing to travel within their own market for coverage, training, support needs, assisting with training newly acquired clinical locations, etc.
• May perform regular PSR duties to include greeting patients; complete check-in and check-out tasks; collecting co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles; answering phones, scheduling appointments, re-direct calls as appropriate, and assist callers with questions or concerns within the PSR scope
• In addition to regular PSR duties, at least 50% of time must be dedicated to clinic metrics/projects/initiatives as deemed by clinic leadership. Examples include but are not limited to the following:
  • Onboards new PSR's
  • Trains PSR's
  • Safety Champion
  • Clinic Policy/SOP champion, develop awareness/knowledge of SDO process to assist CA in administrative preparations
  • Actively involved in assisting with the role out of any new training
• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ yearsof customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
• 3+ years of experience in a medical office or medical environment
• Intermediate level of proficiency in PC software computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other departmental specific programs/applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with medical insurance
• ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
• Prior experience with EMR computer applications
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Working knowledge of general office procedures
