Talent Manager
Celestica is hiring for an on-site HR Leader for our new Fort Worth, TX manufacturing site which is a start-up opportunity. This role has accountability for supporting the HR strategy to support rapid and significant growth at this new site. Initially this role will be supporting key HR deliverables to ensuring the success of the start-up activities. In its steady state, the role will support longer term (3-5 yr) plans/objectives.
Accountable for projects/programs at the site and may participate in multi-functional, national or regional projects in addition. Work requires developing solutions, precedents, /or policies. Receives assignments in the form of objectifs and sets goals to achieve objectifs. Supports site / department budget goals. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts regularly with site senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions /or customers.
Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Partners with the Site Plant Manager & their staff to develop & implement strategic HR initiatives such as workforce planning, resource management, employee relations, performance management, skills management, programs & policies, and leadership development.
- Provides advice, counsel, direction & training to the management team & managers on any business issue that has employee or organizational impact on company personnel practices, procedures, & initiatives.
- Collaborates with recruiting team/Talent Acquisition to build fast-paced, large-scale hiring ramps
- Implements & directs staffing strategies which ensure attracting & retaining high caliber talent both internally and externally to the site.
- Ensures consistent application of policies/procedures for recruiting, rewarding, retaining, recognizing & developing people within a site.
- Provides employee relations consultation services to site leadership team & employees.
- Develops, recommends, implements & maintains performance management programs & ensures consistent & timely application.
- Provides coaching & makes recommendations to managers/supervisors for performance development & corrective action.
- Conducts internal investigations of acts of employee misconduct including interviewing, gathering evidence, consulting legal council, making recommendations & documenting findings.
- Represents site in charges of violating regulation or law.
- Partners with site senior management team to implement organizational change interventions-e.g. restructuring, reengineering, automating.
- Conducts ongoing skill competencies, knowledge/talent needs assessment.
- Develops or obtains specific training programs designed to meet the site's needs.
- Manages the rollout of Corporate HR Programs at the site level.
- Ensures compliance to corporate policies, governmental regulations & local laws. Keeps abreast of legislative decisions, changes in employment laws & regulations to limit legal exposure & liability. As a federal contractor, manages EEOC compliance for the site.
Skills:
- 7-10 years of HR experience & 3-5 years as a site HR Manager / Business Partner preferably in an EMS / Contract Manufacturing organization. Start-up / large scale growth experience a significant asset.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of government regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of employment & labor laws and EEOC compliance.
- Extensive experience partnering with recruitment/Talent Acquisition teams both onsite and offsite
- Customer Satisfaction initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of World Class Manufacturing processes and Six Sigma strategies.
- Strong Project Management skills. M&A background ideal.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.
- Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for timely completion of projects.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications:
Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheets. - Ability to effectively organize and motivate team members with a diverse group of skill sets.
- Duties of this position are generally performed in good working conditions.
- Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
