The Team Lead, Benefits Engagement is part of the Benefits team within the People Division. This role shapes the team member experience by leading enterprise‑wide benefits engagement, education, and communication efforts. It partners closely with HR, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver clear, meaningful programs that help team members understand and maximize their benefits. The role also leads a team that ensures consistent messaging and seamless execution of benefits initiatives throughout the year.

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members responsible for benefits engagement, education, and communication activities.
  • Deliver clear and consistent benefits messaging to ensure team members are informed, supported, and empowered to utilize available programs.
  • Oversee the execution of year‑round benefits initiatives, including program launches, wellness campaigns, and enterprise events.
  • Manage cross‑functional projects from planning through completion, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with HR, vendors, communications teams, and internal partners to maintain accuracy, transparency, and consistency in benefits-related content.
  • Support all aspects of Annual Enrollment, including benefits fairs, hub events, on‑site education sessions, and multi‑channel communications.
  • Identify risks, barriers, and opportunities for improvement, recommending solutions that enhance the team member benefits experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, attending meetings and responding to inquiries to support ongoing engagement needs.
  • Participate in special projects and additional initiatives as required.
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in benefits, HR operations, or employee communications
  • 1+ year leading people, projects, or teams
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience creating or supporting benefits communications and annual enrollment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of employee benefits programs and Annual Enrollment processes preferred
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Ability to accept ownership, responsibility, and accountability of functional obligations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work well with little supervision, and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to all levels within the organization including Director and above
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
  • Capable of effectively prioritizing and multi‑tasking while maintaining flexibility in a fast‑paced, union environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with internal customers, team members, management, and external vendors
  • Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
