Human Resources Intern – Lockheed Martin

Location:

Fort Worth, TX. Position type:
Part‑time, First Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, and counseling to a team of Aeronautics leaders to achieve desired results.
  • Partner with client leaders to ensure the organization has the necessary workforce volume and capability to deliver core services while managing labor cost and developing future leadership and technical bench strength.
  • Develop workforce strategy for the client organization that is coordinated and aligned with the larger organization/company, addressing short‑term and long‑term capability needs and gaps.
  • Identify workforce gaps, risks, and opportunities based on business growth/forecast and current and future workforce data.
  • Partner with relevant Human Resources Centers of Excellence (COE) to deliver HR programs and business‑outcome‑focused solutions.
  • Facilitate the successful execution of people solutions via the COEs by preparing the client organization, identifying gaps or risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to address issues.
  • Provide leaders and employees with coaching, consultation, and guidance on people management, structure, organization effectiveness, resourcing, and relationships.
  • Assist leaders and employees at all levels in developing effective communication, feedback, recognition, ownership/accountability, and conflict management skills.
  • Advocate for employees.
  • Drive lateral connectivity and collaboration within Human Resources and across the enterprise.
  • Deliver data‑driven people solutions that are efficient, effective, and flexible.
  • Own talent capability to meet business performance requirements (right people, right place, right time, right cost).
Basic Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S. as a permanent resident.
  • Position located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills
  • Prior experience in HR applying standard practices, processes, and regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a secret or top‑secret security clearance if applicable.
  • Experience consulting with an assigned client organization on HR topics.
  • Experience managing projects and initiatives, including developing project plans, identifying stakeholders, and preparing communication plans and metrics.
  • Experience developing strategic workforce management plans and identifying workforce gaps and resources.
  • Experience delivering results in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence and business partners.
  • Ability to coach leaders and employees.
  • Facilitation skills to create solutions and resolve issues.
  • Influence stakeholders using multiple methods based on context.
  • Knowledge of change management principles—preferably Prosci methodology.
  • Understanding of organizational design principles.
  • Competence with human capital analytics and workforce metrics.
  • Relationship building, collaboration, constructive conflict, and interpersonal dynamics management.
  • Decision making, judgment, oral and written communication, and business acumen.
  • Basic financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).

Additional Information
  • Part‑time remote telework combined with onsite work at a Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work schedules range from a standard 40‑hour, five‑day week to condensed schedules offering additional time away from the office.
  • First shift; specific schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
