About Otto Aerospace
OTTO is developing the world’s first fifth-generation business jet, designed for sustainability through the innovative use of advanced super‑laminar aerodynamics and high‑precision, net‑shaped composites. Flight tests of our technology demonstrator validate a dramatic reduction in fuel burn and allow a sizeable improvement in cabin comfort. Otto Aerospace is designing world‑class aircraft from first principles physics and delivering ground‑breaking aircraft and economic performance.
AboutThe Role
This role helps establish the network and core IT foundations that enable Otto to design, certify, and manufacture a next generation business jet. The role will support secure, high‑performance connectivity and reliable IT services across engineering, manufacturing, test, and corporate environments, linking people, systems, and data across offices, labs, factory floors, data centers, and cloud integrated platforms.
In addition to contributing to network architecture and design, the role supports day‑to‑day enterprise IT operations, including endpoint connectivity, identity aware access, network services, and operational troubleshooting to ensure a stable and responsive user environment. Early on, you will help set the technical direction for how networks and core IT services are designed, secured, monitored, and supported to enable rapid engineering iteration, disciplined configuration control, and FAA‑aligned development and test activities.
As the company grows, your work will scale with it, supporting increasing program complexity, expanded manufacturing operations, and a growing user base with evolving IT needs. The infrastructure you help build and operate will be a critical enabler of how Otto engineers, tests, certifies, and produces a new class of high‑performance aircraft.
What You'll Do- Serve as a senior technical contributor for enterprise networking, supporting network architecture and technical direction in alignment with FAA, ITAR, and internal security requirements
- Design, implement, and sustain secure, highly available network environments across on‑premises data centers, cloud and hybrid infrastructures, and global WANs supporting engineering, manufacturing, test, and certification activities
- Develop and maintain network reference architectures, standards, and design patterns that emphasize traceability, resiliency, performance, and compliance in regulated aerospace environments
- Drive the technical design and execution of complex initiatives such as data center upgrades, cloud networking integrations, SDWAN deployments, and zero‑trust network architectures with attention to auditability and controlled access
- Evaluate network technologies, service providers, and vendors; provide technical recommendations that consider compliance, data sovereignty, export control, and operational risk
- Provide technical guidance and peer level mentoring to network engineers, reinforcing disciplined design, change control, and operational rigor
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressively relevant IT experience
- CCNA certification preferred; CCNP considered a significant advantage
- Microsoft MCSA 2012 or higher preferred
- CISSP, CISM, CISA certifications a plus
- CompTIA Security+ a plus
- Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, MPLS, and wireless network administration, including Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco FPR firewalls (or equivalents), and Meraki MS/MR/MX platforms
