Description

The ISA UAS division of Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works) is home to world‑class Dev Sec Ops  engineering talent and continues an 80‑year legacy of pioneering advanced aircraft. As part of the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Functional Domain, our team leads the implementation of Dev Sec Ops  practices that enable secure, reliable, and modern software delivery across cutting‑edge UAS platforms.

What

You’ll Do

You will design and implement secure, scalable Azure cloud platforms for mission‑critical systems. You’ll define cloud architecture patterns, guide infrastructure decisions, and ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and program requirements. You’ll partner with Cloud Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and Security teams to build cloud‑native architectures and align CI/CD pipelines with deployment strategies. While cloud‑focused, you’ll stay hands‑on with Git Lab CI/CD to support automation and integration across Azure services.

You’ll provide technical leadership by shaping IaC strategies, establishing reusable patterns, and enabling secure, repeatable deployments. You’ll also strengthen monitoring and observability by applying logs and metrics to improve reliability, security, and operational visibility.

What’s In It For You

As a Staff Dev Sec Ops  Engineer, you will operate as a technical authority in cloud and Dev Sec Ops  engineering, shaping how Azure platforms are designed, deployed, and secured across programs. You will work at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and security, influencing technical decisions that impact multiple teams and systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and security leaders across the organization, helping define best practices while staying hands‑on with modern cloud tooling.

This role offers the opportunity to drive platform evolution, mentor engineers, and contribute to the long‑term technical direction of cloud and Dev Sec Ops  capabilities supporting current and next‑generation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Azure cloud architectures, including networking, identity, compute, storage, and security services to support scalable and secure platforms
  • Define and enforce cloud standards, patterns, and best practices across Azure environments
  • Design and support CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with Dev Sec Ops  engineers, ensuring pipelines align with cloud architecture and deployment strategies (Git Lab CI/CD)
  • Provide technical leadership on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy, including tooling selection, reference implementations, and reusable modules/templates
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex cloud, infrastructure, and deployment challenges
  • Mentor and guide engineers on cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and Dev Sec Ops  practices
  • Evaluate and recommend Azure services, tools, and technologies to improve platform reliability, scalability, and security
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience designing, automating, and optimizing containerized CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab CI/CD and cloud‑integrated services
  • Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Python and scripting languages such as Bash and Power Shell
  • Experience working with Linux‑based operating systems
  • US Citizen required;
Secret clearance required (updated within last 6 years)
Desired Skills
  • Experience architecting and integrating CI/CD ecosystems using Git Lab, Nexus, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Experience operating and supporting workloads in an Azure cloud environment
  • Experience automating workflows and integrating tools within CI/CD and cloud environments
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor)
  • Experience using Agile software development tools and methodologies (Git, JIRA, Confluence, CI/CD platforms)
  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain it
