SECRET Sr. Consultant: Red Hat Edge & Kubernetes

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Secret‑cleared Senior Consultant with strong expertise in KVM virtualization and Red Hat Edge technologies to support mission‑critical initiatives in secure and distributed environments. This individual will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing edge computing solutions across both centralized and remote sites, leveraging KVM (Kernel‑based Virtual Machine) for virtualization and Red Hat’s edge portfolio to enable resilient, low‑latency operations in connected and disconnected environments.

The consultant will build and maintain standardized, automated infrastructure using tools such as RHEL, Ansible, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices, while ensuring systems meet strict DoD security and compliance requirements, including STIG hardening and ongoing vulnerability remediation. They will collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and security teams to deliver scalable, repeatable edge deployments, troubleshoot complex system issues across compute, networking, and storage layers, and provide clear documentation and knowledge transfer.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in Linux‑based infrastructure, deep hands‑on knowledge of KVM, RHEL, and edge architectures, and an active U.S. Secret clearance, with additional experience in Open Shift, Git Ops, or distributed fleet management considered a strong plus.

• 3+ years of experience with Open Shift
• Experience with Virtualization concepts including:
  • KVMs
  • Edge Kubernetes
  • K8s on the edge
  • Edge Deployments
• Familiarity with Ansible and Automation concepts
• 5+ years of overall Dev Ops experience
