A Senior Procurement Analyst applies analytical, legal, technical, and industry knowledge, standards, and practices to complex projects in an assigned account or geographic area. The analyst works closely with assigned business partners, Legal, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and other risk teams to identify the best business solutions that address priority business needs or issues.
The position manages specific projects and initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of services, and is accountable for managing risks and resource requirements. The Senior Procurement Analyst builds strong working relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other team members, and operates at contractor, supplier, and other external stakeholder relationships. The analyst is a resource for colleagues with less experience, sharing knowledge and expertise.
InThis Role You Will
- Manage contracts with vendors, negotiate terms and conditions, document changes and amendments, and systematically manage contract creation, execution, and analysis to maximize financial and operational performance while minimizing risk.
- Collaborate with Category Management to help identify and meet the needs of the business, identify risks, and contractually protect GMF customers and business interests.
- Design and develop processes under specific requirements and time‑frames, defining the sequence of activities needed to meet objectives and desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with mentoring Specialists and Analysts.
- Collaborative and relentless approach to process improvement, leading contract negotiations while adhering to internal policies to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Proficient negotiation skills and ability to develop and maintain creative, innovative, and strategic category/sub‑category strategy for responsible areas, identify legal and risk issues, conduct appropriate contract review and analysis, and recommend viable alternatives and specifications.
- Knowledge of contract terms and conditions and information security practices.
- Strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality services.
- Ability to influence and steer highly ethical processes with business partners and suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of complex legal concepts.
- Ability to build rapport with and influence Senior Management.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex legal risks concisely and understandably.
- General understanding and application of best‑in‑class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, sourcing, etc.).
- Familiarity with Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and financial laws and regulations.
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work.
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights.
- Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related business field or equivalent work experience (Juris Doctorate preferred).
- 3‑5 years background in contract negotiation; experience negotiating with vendors;
Oracle or other procurement software experience required.
