Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary owner of the network environment, acting as the go‑to resource for all network‑related issues and initiatives.
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure in a Cisco‑based environment.
• Own and manage network security architecture, including firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and segmentation strategies.
• Lead the replacement and modernization of end‑of‑life firewall systems.
• Assess and improve current architecture, including transition from flat Layer 2 design to segmented networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues affecting performance and availability across distributed sites.
• Drive network monitoring, alerting, and incident response improvements using tools such as Logic Monitor (or equivalent).
• Collaborate with leadership, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver network initiatives and ensure high uptime.
• Maintain and enforce network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Support hybrid cloud connectivity (Azure preferred) and future cloud networking initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff or contractors as needed.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide escalation support for critical issues.

• Experience in network engineering within enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco routing and switching (LAN/WAN).
• Proven experience owning and managing firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or similar).
• Deep understanding of:
  • Switching (VLANs, STP, trunking, QoS).
  • Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Network security (ACLs, NAT, VPNs).
• Experience troubleshooting complex, multi‑site network environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of critical systems.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.

Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

The pay range is $56.50 - $56.50/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Fort Worth, TX.
