Position OverviewThe Physical Security Systems Administrator II (PSSA II) will support the installation, configuration, administration, and operational maintenance of GMF's physical security systems infrastructure in a highly integrated, virtualized environment. This infrastructure includes access control and badging, CCTV video surveillance, integration with intrusion and fire alarm systems, IP-based intercoms, mass communication and radio over IP (ROIP) systems, and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM).
The PSSA II provides technical support and related system training for the Corporate Security department and is required to be on call 24x7 to respond to security systems issues and emergencies.
- Assist in the development of project security requirements and design, determine deliverables, assign tasks, define activities, estimate resources, and schedule appropriately.
- Perform security system administration, configuration management, routine maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting and software installation to assure system integrity.
- Manage and coordinate systems implementation; provide technical and operational guidance to security integrators, related product vendors and complete final security systems testing and acceptance for GMF facilities.
- Collaborate and coordinate with IT to ensure compliance with IT standards and network connectivity for all physical security devices and drive issue resolution appropriately.
- Manage maintenance work order process and updates accordingly as issues are resolved.
- Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis.
- Assist in training of end-users and other support personnel on security applications.
- Manage inventory of security equipment, components and consumables.
- Keep informed of current security trends, standards, guidelines, developments and techniques.
- Knowledge of Physical Security Systems best practices, guidelines and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of networked access control and badging systems, video management systems and alarm systems such as CPAM, ICPAM, Lenel, SASD, VSOM.
- Intermediate knowledge of radio over IP (ROIP), IP-based intercom systems, Physical Security Information Management (PSIM), visitor management systems, duress alarm systems and mass notification systems.
- Knowledge of contemporary intrusion detection systems and devices, physical security mechanical systems and design (e.g., doors, locks), personnel entry control systems, and asset protection strategies.
- Understanding of permit, inspection and licensing requirements for system installations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint.
- Proficiency with CAD, Active Directory, SQL Server, Windows and Linux operating systems, network cabling/switches, server administration, system remote management, and data import/export/manipulation.
- Experience with ICPAM, CPAM, Lenel, S2, SASD/VSOM administration or other relevant training certificates.
- Professional board certification in a relevant security discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems efficiently and propose solutions.
- Ability to read electronic schematic and architectural drawings; basic electrical engineering or cabling experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex technical issues and shifting priorities.
- Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical instructions.
- Ability to function in stressful situations with keen attention to detail.
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Ability to properly use hand and power tools, analog/digital test equipment, CCTV testing devices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholder groups.
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work.
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights.
- Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.
- 3-5 years of direct experience with analysis and administration of physical security or business systems, engineering, or electrical circuitry required.
