The Intermediate Applications Analyst is responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of the assigned application’s functionality and combining that knowledge with information technology experience to build and maintain a system which enhances workflows. Responsibilities include designing, building, testing, validating, implementing, and supporting assigned application(s) while mentoring other analysts.

• Analyze and complete service requests, provide application support, perform workflow assessments, capture business needs, and analyze internal systems to determine functional requirements while mentoring other analysts.
• Write/conduct business requirements and design functional, technical, and workflow specific solutions under direction of a more experienced analyst.
• Conduct business requirements reviews and independently formulate logical statements of business requirements.
• Configure moderately complex components based on functional requirements.
• Apply functional knowledge to the design and customization of workflow systems that integrate client/server applications.
• Write functional requirements, develop test plans, and work with production issues.
• Follow project and software development methodologies and processes, assisting in aligning the process with project needs.
• Provide support to operations/product and development activities, including direct customer and off‑hours support.
• Provide ongoing support: resolve application incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, impact analysis, plan proposed system upgrades and patches to meet changing business/clinical requirements.
• Formulate and define business scope and objectives through research and fact‑finding combined with understanding of business and industry requirements.
• Perform functional analysis, define requirements, configure application modules, and conduct testing.
• Conduct prototypes, develop functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, set configuration tables, and set transaction/control tables and work queues.
• Identify and resolve gaps in business processes; involved in security/authorization set‑up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
• Assist in installation and tuning of modifications, archiving data; develop necessary workarounds and new workflows.
• Work as a team player, fostering trust, confidence, and commitment in others to create a supportive work environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, clinical field of study, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years implementing or supporting healthcare clinical or business applications.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
• If required, must obtain current certification in assigned application(s) (e.g., Epic certification in appropriate module(s) required within specified time frame following class completion; analysts supporting Epic modules must maintain certification on current version of Epic).

• 6+ years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
• License or Federal Registry in relevant healthcare field.
